UFO Busting #90

Welcome back to another addition of UFO Busting.  It's been a crazy week.  There was a full moon.  Did you feel it?  I know I sure did, it's like everyone lost their marbles, but things are leveling back out and returning to normal.  Even though the week didn't lead to much sewing I still managed to work on a few things.

I finished up all the diagonal blocks for the Mosaic Mystery Quilt and hopefully tomorrow will be able to make the rows come together.

I pieced this Magic Inch (or Pick Up Stick) block just in time for our guild meeting.  We will be turning the blocks everyone made into a charity quilt.

I've also pulled out my fabrics for the Gravity quilt so that I can begin pressing and cutting.

Clocking in at an 80"x 80" quilt, this will be the biggest quilt I've worked with in a while.  I tend to live in the throw size land.  But all of this means I am slowly whittling away at my week's to do list.

Now let's see what you've been up to.  First up we have Karen at Quilts...ect who has been working away at organizing her sewing room.

I needed this post for motivation.  It's always good to regroup and reorganize.  A craft/quilting room and get out of control before you blink if you aren't careful.  Mine needs put back together after a closet had to be emptied to work on a hot water heater.  Karen's post is the motivation I need.  I want a clean sewing room again!

Next up we have squirrels running around over at Marie's Octopus Patchwork.  Marie had been working diligently on her Five Oceans quilt when it happened.  She was bit by a squirrel and contracted the fever.  Before she knew it this happened.

Those beautiful fabrics and that fun wonky block...I totally get it.  No turning back now, Marie.  Once you've been bit by the first squirrel they just keep coming.  Make sure you visit Marie and cheer her on.

Now it's your turn.  Let's see what you've been up to this week.  Link up and tell us about it below.

Happy Saturday, Tish! Woot woot! It was a very long week - five whole days of work after two weeks off is hard. Just sayin'. Love your Mosiac block, but I'm especially intrigued by the Magic Inch block. Those fabrics are cool and it looks like it can be random? So the various guild member will have slightly different blocks, I'm guessing? That will be a fun and beautiful quilt when it's complete. Gravity's fabrics - ooh-la-la are gorgeous. I want to dig into that project myself! And I am giggling over Marie's squirrel project. Poor thing - I hope she got rid of the fever. I don't need to catch it! ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Tish! I really love your fabrics in your "pick up sticks" block for quilt guild charity quilt. I hope you will take a photo of it once someone assembles the top.

Thank you Trish! I thought I had healed from my squirrel fever, but now I just want to finish the top to free motion quilt it! That is a first for me because I am still a bit shy about my quilting... The magic inch blocks will be very fun when put together.
