UFO Busting #36

Well my friends, it has been one exhausting week and I feel like I haven't got much in the sewing department done.  But after reviewing some pictures from this week, I've decided even though the sewing machines were not buzzing, I was productive anyway.

Last weekend I concentrated on basting quilts.  My mom's garage was open because they were out of town and I decided to capitalize on it, in the form of setting up tables and getting high on basting spray fumes (joking to the last part of course).

It took several hours over two days but I managed to get 8 quilts all basted up.  Most of them are baby size, but it will make going from project to project so much smoother.

I also managed to almost get the binding and hanging tabs on the two flag quilts I have been working on.  Weather permitting I can snap some pictures and share them with you next week.  It is such a fun project to quilt and piecing is a breeze.

I am sad to report that there was no stash slashing for me this week.  BOO!  But I am happy to report I have had several people mention that they are joining me on my quest to gain control of my stash.  One person who took the leap and wielded her rotary cutter like a ninja was Wendy over at Pieceful Thoughts of my Quilting Life.

Just look at that beautiful stack of charm squares!  Wendy you are motivating me to clear my table back off and get to whacking fabric!

Now let's take a look at what everyone else was up to during last week's party.  If we are tackling UFO's a plan is always good.  Gail over at Quilting Gail has also been working her tushy off this year to encourage everyone to bust those UFO's and earn their quilting PhD.

Last week she talked about her current plan to tackle four different UFO's in waiting.  Make sure you hop over to read about her plan and cheer her on.

Next up we have Sandy over at Sew...This is My Blog and her recent UFO finish!

Sandy just finished up her version of Framed from the book Simply Retro by Camille Roskelley.  Sandy is on a mission to make quilts for her future grandkids and I just LOVE IT!  Make sure you hop over and congratulate her on busting this UFO.

Now let's see what you've been up to this week.  Make sure you link up below and tell us about all the quilting adventures you've had.

As a healthy right of passage into adulthood, this past weekend Jen was able for the first time to exercise one of her rights by voting.  Since we were out and about running errands we took the opportunity to swing by the early voting location and do our civic duties.  She was so excited to make her voice heard for the first time and I couldn't be prouder.

Jenny and I are voting for you to finish all those lingering projects!
