UFO Busting #51

What's the old saying about March?  In like a lion, out like a lamb.  That's what I'm declaring for my little neck of the woods.  I am ready for some spring, and if that means the end of March will let me have it...I'll take it.  As for my sewing, it's kind of coming in like a lamb, so by the end of the month I should be in full on lion mode!  Here's to pouncing on some finishes!

I've managed to keep some projects moving along this week.  I've start piecing on my April Island Batik challenge project and realize, March's challenge needs be to quilted.  I'm going to have to ground myself.

The Pat Sloan A Flower Bouquet QAL, is heading toward another section finish.  This week I pieced two blocks.

Decorate Your Garden

Geraniums

After placing them on the design wall, I'm thinking with the next two blocks and the strips, I need to add a bit more green and dark blue.

Now to talk about my PhD progress for the month.  I didn't get quite as far as I wanted, but that's ok.  February is a short and busy month.

For the Island Batik projects;  I finished the February challenge, need to quilt March and started piecing April.  This has my current projects, headed towards finishes.  I'm going to go ahead and count the Bundle Buster Baby Quilt as a February finish.

The binding is all made and in my head already around my quilt.  Hey, my blog my rules.  I would really like to focus on one more UFO finish (maybe two) for March.

Speaking of people with actual UFO finishes...last week Chris from Chris Knits Sews had a UFO finish to celebrate!

I am in love with the simple cross hatching she chose for this quilt and the binding fabric is perfect!  Make sure you stop over and congratulate her on this finish.

Next up we have Alycia from Alycia Quilts-Quiltygirl and her UFO finish, Don't Fence Me In.

"This was a part of the Monochromatic Challenge hosted by Judy at Patchwork Times WAY back in 2011( hiding my face) I DID NOT think it was that long ago that I finished the top!!"  Alycia, I feel you!  Time passes too quickly.  I have tons of tops in my stack collection that it feels like I pieced them last week...reality it was 10 years ago.  Make sure you swing over to Alycia's and check out this heavenly slice of a quilt.

Now it's your turn.  Let's see what you've been up to this week.  Link up below and tell us all about it.

I love the Pat Sloan quilt you are working on, but then again, her quilts are ALWAYS AMAZING! I wish it were on my list for this year, but it is not.

Too bad you had to quit piecing to go quilt. I far prefer piecing but don't like to pay others to quilt for me.

I love the way you have listed your PHD challenge report. I may have to rethink how I list mine.

Happy quilting this week!

Pat Sloan's quilt you are working on is looking good! Now as for adding green I say yes, you can never have too much green.

Some pretty finishes last week! You are doing a great job on the IB schedule and quilts! I had a really unproductive week; I think I wore myself out with all the sewing during the snowstorm. Hoping this week is better. Soon I need to dig into my UFO pile and finish something!

Well done on your progress. Guess I need an idea for my March project.
