S.S. Playtime Plus--Cutting

Now is the time to start chopping up fabrics for the Playtime Plus QAL at mmm!quilts.  I had decided on my fabric colors and placements, but needed to slim down my fabric pull.  I may have got a bit crazy with the black and grays.

Technically, the quilt would only need 14 of each color, so I needed to down size them.  I decided on seven of each color.

From there I decided to cut enough pieces for two pluses in each color.  I'm thinking I might have a few pieces left over at the end, but that's okay.  Now as we put the blocks together I can decide which plus will go where.

I can't wait to start piecing all these beautiful strips together!  Sandra, do I have to wait????

Also don't forget that the third week of the New Quilt Bloggers Blog Hop is going on right now...as I type!

Be sure to check out this week's post make new friends and maybe win some prizes.

Some other upcoming events; on Saturday, David (or as we call him around here Dave the Quilt Engineer) will be highlighted at Melva Loves Scraps in her Quilters Through the Generation series.

You can read a bit more about how he started quilting and why he does it.  Also on Friday the 18th, while I'm parting at our annual Strawberry Festival, you can party with me and your Friday finishes.  Wonderland will be hosting for the first time the TGIFF linky party.

So round up your finishes and meet me there!  Come back and see what UFO I've finally busted.

Hi Tish,
You might have gone just a slight bit overboard on all those lovely grays, blacks and whites - but I can see and understand why! I bet Sandra would say no you don't have to wait - she knows there are some already finished already. But, in the spirit of the QAL I am sure you want to wait and play along with the rest of us. Maybe.

You don't have to wait! Come to the dark side, where we don't so much quilt "along" as quilt "all at once" :)

But seriously, your fabric pull is looking might fine!

I knew Louise would be chiming in on this one! Haha! I won't tell if you don't wait. Just don't tell that I haven't started. I'm waiting for the magical "aha" fabric ideas for both your QAL and Sandra's. I'll catch up soon! I am looking forward to seeing your Plus quilt come together, and I'll be heading over to Melva's sight to read Dave's quilting story too!

You did get a little enthusiastic choosing fabrics, didn't you? What the heck, just use them all. :-)

LOL on the quilty confessions you elicit from everyone! Me included (the Herbs pillow?!) Go right ahead and piece this sexy girl up; I want to see what she looks like, and I bet lots of others do too! You are just on fire with your featured at Melva, your QAL hosting and participating and now hosting TGIFF!! Glad you jumped in this pool too; it's fun!

It looks great. Sometimes being a little ahead of the curve is good - especially if a curve ball gets thrown your way.
