SS Playtime Plus-Rows One and Two

And so the last we talked, this beautiful quilt was all in pieces.  Laid across my cutting board, it wondered to itself, if indeed one day it would be come a finished quilt.  Oh, why must a quilt journey take so long?

I set about reading the fabrics and mapping out their designation.  Since I was only dealing with the first row, there didn't need to be much planning on the black and gray fabric placement...just black, gray, black, gray.  So I set back and let the fabrics do the driving.

It would appear, they new exactly where they are going.

Row two however, would be a bit more tricky.  I wanted to try to keep my blacks and grays distributed nicely in the rows, so for blocks 4, 5, and 6 I moved a bit slower.

I worked by pinning the columns of the blocks together to make sure that the fabrics in the block above it were not repeated in the one below.

Okay, time for a full disclosure confession...I didn't really take any pictures after this point.  I got so in the groove making these blocks, the momentum building full steam ahead, that I finished the quilt top.  Did I just have a premature quilt finish????

So I've decided to wait until after Row 3 is released to reveal my finished quilt top.  All I can say is...I'm in Love.

If you are participating in the Fireburst Mystery Quilt, the first piecing instructions will be released on Friday, June 1st!  Hope to see you there!

Hi Tish,
Please know that you are not alone in this frustrating situation with Blogger, and we all understand! Really! I guess I can only speak for myself - and I understand. I LOVE THIS SNEAK PEEK. One of my favorite color combinations is red/black/gray/white. I think it looks so sharp. I did the same thing - I have the quilt top all together because I had to space out duplicate color pluses . . . and I was on a roll. Happy Wednesday! ~smile~ Roseanne

One more comment - there is a check box that says Email follow-up comments to my email address . . . I'm checking that now so maybe you can then see my email to reply? I don't know.

Let's see what happens...I think it just emails you every time someone comments on this post. I left my comment and clicked it as well, so that I would at least know someone commented. It was a great suggestion from Carol at Just Let Me Quilt.

I sure hope the Blogger comment situation gets worked out soon, I know it is terribly frustrating.

I know how it can be to get so sucked into a project that you don't take any photos along the way. I look forward to seeing how it came together; the photos here are definitely lovely!!

Hi again,
Yes, that is what happens. I received an email when Yvonne commented. I don't want to say I don't care . . . but I just might not care. HAHA! An annoying situation.

Oh, Tish, I just love it! I'm certain it looks incredible all together! That color combination makes such a bold statement, and it's really speaking to me. It’s no wonder that you just had to keep on sewing, sans camera, right to the end. XO

Ha ha, premature quilt finish! Next time, you need to relax and think of baseball while sewing :) I love your B/W/Red color scheme on this. No need to answer this comment...I'm taking a few days off from answering comments myself so I'm cutting everyone a whole bunch of slack!

I love that phrase - “ a premature quilt finish”! I, too, am crazed with the blogger thing and have been planning but not executing a move to wordpress. Last week I was in a hop and was getting no comments - then I looked - already 20 behind. What a yucko thing to have happen.
