It's taken a few months, but I finally have another finish! I started quilting on the pieced Mosaic Mystery quilt designed by Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs back in February.
If you'd like to make one of your own, make sure you check out the landing page for Cheryl's mystery quilt alongs here.
I was actually quite optimistic that I would complete the quilting on this one before the big reveal party in March. Spoiler that didn't happen. I tried out lots of different things design wise. It begged for custom quilting.
After the plan was roughly mapped out, I let the thread and rulers speak to me. All of the quilting on this quilt was done using straight and curved rulers. Since I decided on one over all thread color, I was able to continuously quilt without a ton of thread breaks.
The star performer giving the monologue of quilty goodness was none other than Aurifil 50wt #2600, Dove.
Gray is my favorite go to neutral color. I probably have 4 spools of Dove to ensure I do not run out. I'm not crazy, I'm well prepared. Having more than one spool means that when I run out of bobbin, I don't have unthread my machine to wind a bobbin, and that is a time saver in and of itself.
I am super happy with how this one turned out. There really isn't any dense quilting, which allows for it to be super cuddly.
I chose to back this one in a gray similar in color to the background fabric on the front and bind it in the border fabric.
A few more pictures of the quilting.
If you've enjoyed this quilt, good news...Cheryl will be releasing another mystery quilt along, Morewood Mystery, starting in July and you don't want to miss is, take my word for it.
You can read more about the Morewood Mystery Quilt here.
I hope you enjoyed my quilting eye candy. Stop back next week and I will be hosting the TGIFF linky party...
as well has our Saturday UFO Busing party. I have a UFO finish that will hopefully leave you begging for more quilting. It's tiny but packs in a lot of fun.

So until the next time, Miss Caroline and I will continue to enjoy this quilt.

Oh, gorgeous quilt! And I'm with you on Aurifil 2600 :I always have more than one spool, too!
It came out beautifully, Tish! Hooray for another finish!
Well done!! It turned out beautifully. You did a great job with the quilting. I'm looking forward to the next mystery.
Hooray for the finish Tish! Love the soft squishy look of this quilt.
Nice finish, Tish! This quilt has such pretty fabrics in it, and your quilting is amazing as always!
It's lovely, Tish, congratulations on the finish! I still have the Plus Sampler to quilt... hmmm, I'll get to it, I promise!
Hi Tish! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful finish. Your quilting and Dove really bring home this lovely pattern and let your fabrics really sing. You can really enjoy the curves you've worked into this deceptively non-curvy design. Nice job! I'll be back, if not before, for TGIFF . . . if I can figure out a finish of some sort. Good job. ~smile~ Roseanne
Beautiful job. Quilting looks fabulous.
This quilt turned out so beautiful. Taking your time with it was well worth the results. Mine is still waiting to be quilted. Will need to do that by check as too big for me to quilt on the domestic. I'm torn about whether to go with another mystery quilt-along. So many projects I want to do and so little time. Ha, ha.
Congratulations on the finish, your quilting is wonderful. I love your quilt!
