UFO Busting #8

The good news and the bad new.  The good news, I have a finish.  The bad news, not a UFO.  I haven't revealed the finish on the blog yet, because the weather has been too rainy get any photos.  Hopefully, I can find a non rainy moment this weekend and snap some photos.

I did manage to sneak in some sewing time on two ongoing WIP's.  Block 11 Four Square of the Sewcial Bee Sampler.  I am itching to see all of these blocks come together, but slow and steady wins the race.  My next problem is locating block 12.  I pre cut all my blocks back in July and some how have misplaced the baggie containing #12.  So do I keep searching long and hard or give in and cut and make the block.  I know full well that if I do that, I will find the bag like two minutes after I'm finished.

And one of the next blocks in Cindy at Stitchin at Home's Medallion Quilt.  I technically have enough blocks made for the quilt.  I'll lay them out this weekend and decide if I'm going to use the extra Churn Dash block I've made or the last of the blocks released.  It will just depend on how I'm feeling about the colors.

I do want to announce that the closing for signing up for the 2018 New Quilt Bloggers Blog Hop is approaching next week.  Have you signed up?  If you have been blogging for more than two months and less than three years, I sure hope you have.  I think we are all going to have a blast and learn lots.  If you want to learn more about the hop and sign up please check out this post.  We have a long list of sponsors with some pretty awesome prizes we will be giving away each of the four weeks of the hop.  Check back here on Monday, when I would like to discuss exactly what the hop posts are about.  Don't let fear of writing that post hold you back, I promise it's easy.

Now let's see what you've been up to.  This week I wanted to feature Kate from Smiles From Kate and her Circle Quilt UFO finish.

Kate's finish makes me happy all the way around!  I've been following Kate ever since she started this quilt.  It's been fun to watch it grow and evolve into the finished top you see today.  I love the way she fearlessly tackled free motion quilting and tamed this beast on her domestic machine.

So what have you been up to this week?  Did you get distracted by me, or are you conquering those old projects one stitch at a time?  Link up and tell us all about it.  Feel free to grab my button on the side bar and let everyone know you are busting your UFO's and WIP's and staying on task.  Or at least make them think that :)

Great news you have another finish, even if you can't show it this week. So annoying when you misplace something, I hope you find your missing bag soon, I would give myself a limited amount of time to find it then if I haven't by the deadline just cut another, as long as you have more of the fabric. I would definitely recommend new quilt bloggers to join the hop, I met so many lovely quilters when I joined in 2016 many of whom I still keep in touch with, for me that was the best bit. I did learn a lot about about blogging too of course. Thank you so much for featuring my finish and your kind words Tish, the words especially. I have yet to sort out my next UFO, but I will by next week.

This time of year its hard getting pictures. Too cold, too wet, wrong time of the day, too much snow, too windy!! You will get the picture if not soon than by Spring!!

Lovely finish by Kate, bright and beautiful. Not a finish down here, not even a single stitch, on holiday in the far south of the South Island, but I'm sure I will do my very best to find a fabric shop somewhere.

Yay for the finish, even if we can't see it yet! Hope you find the missing block. If you're like me, you'll make another block and someday that missing one will turn up when you no longer need it. Haha. Kate's quilt is amazing! It's been fun to watch her get it done! Yes, I got distracted this week. It's time to finish another UFO.

The sun has gone way down south for awhile. It would be nice if it would make an appearance.

Circles is the first project from Kate that I remember, too! SO happy to see it finished!

That darn #12 baggie! I hope you find it before you cut another block! I did manage to finish a very small UFO, a little table topper. It was floating around my sewing room, constantly getting in the way, so I just knuckled down and got 'er done. That then unearthed a set of extra blocks that really needed to just get put together into a wall hanging, so that's currently under my needle. But the REAL unfinished objects are the blog posts that document these happenings...

Darned weather! It’s been difficult to get outdoor pictures here, too. I do like your blocks. I vote to wait until you find baggie #12! I did not get distracted this week, but I was headachy, and am still hoping to accomplish the last item on my list tomorrow.

Congratulations on a finish! I understand about the rain. I'm looking forward to some days without it here too. I missed last week so am linking up a finish from last Saturday.

I really like block # 11, and you know for sure you'll find # 12 as soon as you cut a new one. Happens every time.
