I'm starting to feel like possibly aliens have sucked my brains out. It's been a whirl wind January and so far February, at work, switching to a new software system at the lumber store I work at. My brain is complete mush by the time I get home in the evenings, so progress on projects has been slow. But progress is progress and I will be more than happy to take it.
My focus this past week as been finishing up a few blocks and connecting sections of the Moda Modern Building Block quilt.
Here I am showing my 30" finished block from section C at our monthly guild meeting Thursday night. I guess I must have been in the middle of a happy dance?
After I got home from the guild meeting, Sandra, Anja and I decided to squeak out one more block on the Sewcial Bee Sampler Quilt. This is block 10. SO MANY SMALL HOURGLASS BLOCKS. I'm not sure 8PM was the time to tackle them, but I had fun anyway.
Last week, Louise over at Quilt Odyssey was celebrating a UFO finish!
I'd be celebrating all those bright fun string blocks all quilted up too! This quilt will be sure to bring someone lots of happiness.
Marti at MartiDYI is inching closer to a finish everyday! She's all basted and ready to go. That's always a good feeling. She's been practicing with her ruler foot, preparing to quilt. Marti, I can't wait to see your progress, you've got this!
The sign ups for the 2018 New Quilt Bloggers Blog Hop is still going
strong. If you have been blogging for two months or less than three
years, I hope you will consider joining myself, Beth at Cooking Up Quilts, Sandra at mmm!quilts and Jen at Dizzy Quilter in this super fun

I like that you are savoring your time with the Moda Modern Building Block quilt. So often we all get caught up in just making for a deadline or finish, so this is a great reminder to enjoy it!
Those are some big blocks. Taking your time and enjoying the fabric is a great idea.
I love your pointed toe in the show and tell photo! I can just hear you saying, "And here is section C!" while you curtsied :)
After a big push last week to get several things finished and out the door, I'm taking a little hiatus. The Postcards From Sweden Quilt Along (or Swedalong, as I think of it) is currently swirling around in my brain, displacing UFO thoughts. But that's OK!
I did get a funny comments on my UFO blog post for that string quilt. One gal said she thought it was hilarious that I considered a project from October 2017 to be a UFO. Apparently she has UFOs that are eligible to vote...
I love those bright blocks and how fun that you are working with Sandra and Anja, keeping you going when you are tired.
It's easy to get so caught up finishing a quilt we forget to enjoy the journey, I'm glad you are enjoying yours. I am so close to finishing it hurts, so close, my first UFO finish of the year (that's positivity). Only thing is I just ordered my fabric for Postcards from Sweden, I didn't MEAN to replace a UFO for a new quilt, honest!
Your building blocks sampler is looking great. I always liked how the blocks all fit together in that quilt.
Your sampler blocks look amazing. Those tiny hourglass blocks were tiny. It was 9 p.m. my time -- definitely too late for tiny piecing.
I love your Moda building blocks Tish! Who wouldn't be doing a happy dance!
I don't know how I missed this! Thank you for showing my little quilt. I got it quilted this weekend and while it doesn't look great, it's not bad enough to give to the cat. Yet.
Those are tiny hourglasses. I don't think I could start something like that at 8 p.m. without having the ripper out the next day.
I used to work at a lumberyard when I was in college. It was my favorite job.
I am the turtle. Head down and plodding on to finish up so many projects languishing on the shelves. I am having so much fun watching you add to your MMBB, and when you are done, we have a date for a photo shoot, right? Keep at it, Tish!
Hi Tish,
The building Blocks are coming along nicely. I love how they are looking together. I can relate to trying to sew while feeling brain dead. =) The hour glass blocks do look just fine to me though. Having finally pulled out my sewing machine again, I might finally get to join you on the UFO busting journey soon.
What a cute picture. You look like a shy little thing showing off her quilt!
Tish, in my world, slow and steady wins the race! And you’re doing great! That Moda quilt is going to be huge! I just love your blocks all together! Anja is a great motivator. She challenges me upon occasion, and I get things done! Enjoy your day! XO
