WIP are like rabbits. Once you have two they multiply like crazy! That's okay though, because I think bunnies are cute so the more the merrier. Currently I am participating in three QAL's and to my surprise have managed to stay pretty caught up on all three. First up is the Pat Sloan Mystery BOM My Secret Garden and it has been going on since January. Above, is the latest block released earlier this month. I try my hardest to piece the 16" blocks with in a day or two of their release so that I do not fall behind.
Next up, is Yvonne at Quilting Jetgirl's Snowflake Shimmer QAL. Last week she released the cutting instructions (so it's not too late, join in!) and again, I knew I needed to get cracking. I posted a picture last week of my hard work, but realized it was kind of hard to see them while they were still in their storage bin. So I pulled them out this evening to get a better picture. I'm so in love with the metallic shimmer on these fabrics.
And lastly, we have Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs Meadow Mystery QAL. Last Thursday, she posted the cutting instructions and I couldn't wait to cut into my fabrics. However, I'm kind of glad I put it off until this evening. Last night was our monthly guild meeting and I was contacted to see if I could discuss fabric selection as a presentation, since the speaker had to cancel at the last second. So I through together some impromptu helpful hints and did what I try to do best...winged it.
For a last minute thing, I think it went pretty well. Six ladies brought their fabrics for everyone to see. Two even had two separate fabric pulls and decided they may make two quilts. I said go for it! That's what I would do, but hey I'm kinda crazy like that. I'm so excited to see what the others come up with.
For now my fabrics are cut and safely labeled in zip lock bags until next month.
And one last thing I almost forgot about, until Lara at Buzzin Bumble reminded me that this Sunday kicks off the 2016 Pets on Quilts over at Lily Pad Quiltng!!!
If you are a pet lover and your pet loves quilts, it's time to show them off. The idea is to write up a post about your quilt loving animal; dog, cat, horse, guinea pig, it doesn't matter, just link up. I do believe there are different categories. At the end of the link up, you can vote for your favorite pet in each category. And yes there are prizes. So hop over to Lily Pad Quilting for more details and I hope to read about your furry, scaly, feathered or maybe even hairless quilt lover. I'm pretty sure spouses and WIP (remember they are like rabbits) do not count.
Today I'm linking up with Let's Bee Social and Midweek Makers.

Everything's looking Beautiful, as the song goes. You have been busy, those first blocks sing with colour, love the other fabric choices.
Really looking forward to Pets on Quilts - its my favourite linky of the year. I love your determination to get BOM's finished very quickly to the release date - I can sometimes fall quite behind!
Those first blocks are fabulous -- wow! Just really love the color combinations! Sounds like you had a fun time at your meeting; not sure I could wing it successfully like you did!
Super blocks
I am glad that talking at your guild meeting went well! I need to catch up next week on the QALs I am participating in. It's a busy time for them right now!
Wow you're one busy girl! Your fabric pulls look great and well done for being able to pull a talk together at he last minute! I'm in awe!
Great blocks with beautiful fabrics! Good work keeping up with these QAL's - it can be quite the challenge. Thanks for sharing on Midweek Makers

WIPS are like rabbits, once you have two they multiply?! That is SO funny, and SO true. Your QAL projects are looking great, and keeping up with multiple QALs IS impressive. I can't handle that kind of pressure from my hobbies, so I like to start a QAL long after it has finished and just take my time... :-)
Loving your fabric choices, especially the grey and purple xx
What you call winging it I call flying by the seat of my pants. Rabbits are cute indeed, just don't need to many multiplying here...
Kudos for staying caught up with all your QAL's. It's easy to get behind.
Hi Tish: I missed commenting on this one. I love your fabrics choices in your first photo. They just pop. I'm always impressed that you give presentations at your quild. You are so brave. I've done it once but I was a nervous wreck. I'm also not as good as you at keeping up with the quilt alongs...maybe I should sign up for less...but it's so hard. Those bunnies are really cute aren't they.
