UFO Busting #153

Happy Saturday!  Last week I found myself bitten by the squirrel bug and I'm hoping it didn't cause me to create two more UFO's (party security if it did).  It all started when my dear friend Sandra at mmm!quilts gifted me a copy of her latest pattern Let Your Star Shine.  OMG you guys!  This pattern is super easy and super quick to put together.  On my weekly Walmart run, I stopped by the fabric department and picked up some fabrics.  And in just a few short hours, this was born.

The problem was I couldn't get other fabric I saw there out of my head and the thought of how good they would look in this quilt.  So, really, I did the only thing a quilter could do.  I went back to the Walmart and retrieved those fabrics and BOOM!

Both quilts were made in the same day and that included store trips.  Let that be a testament to how great this pattern is if you need a quick wall hanging or baby quilt.  Heck stick four of them together and make a big block big quilt!

I wasn't the only one distracted with this particular squirrel last week.  Carol over at Quilt Schmilt was also bitten by the same bug squirrel.

And of course we have the queen of providing us with lots of fun distractions, Ms Sandra herself.

If you haven't checked out Let Your Star Shine make sure you hop over to mmm!quilts to get the details and check out Sandra's Christmas version for the 12 Days of Christmas in July blog hop.

Now it's your turn.  Link up below and share with us what had you buzzing this week!

I've been seeing this cute star quilt show up here and there! Your two versions in one day is testimony to it's fun and simplicity!!!

I just love your squirrel story, and also the testament to how fast the pattern really does go together. Also, that shared brain thing between us happened again because oh yeah, I too, had had the idea to put four of these 36" blocks together to make a nice-sized quilt!

What a great pattern and use of it and 2 quilts in one day! I, too, received it and am thinking it could be a good and fast stash buster!

What a cute pattern -- I love star quilts, and I can't believe you made two of them from start to finish in a single day, in between running errands, no less!!

Oh wow, you were able to do both in one day even heading back to the store? That's awesome. And both versions are darling. I'm sure you are going to work your quilt magic on them when it's their turn.

I see how that squirrel couldn't be ignored. Both versions are great. I'm not sure that finished tops qualify as UFO, so maybe you're still on track :)
