UFO Busting #94

I just want to say, for a ground hog that didn't see his shadow, promising an early spring, it sure was pouring the snow down here yesterday.  That's ok, it's the perfect excuse to stay in and make the sewing machines buzz and the rotary cutters slice and dice.  I've been so busy with Operation Dishwasher 2020, that not much sewing has happened over here.  It's mostly been kitchen purge and reorganize, but this weekend, I hope to relax with some sewing.

Putting the finishing touches (aka binding) on this so old UFO, I completely forgot it existed, is number one on the agenda this weekend.  I will be gifting it to a friend so I better get my butt in gear.

Next on my weekend list will be to make the next block in the Out West QAL.  Fingers crossed I will have better fabric contrast with this block.

Then it will be time to get my baste on for the Mosaic Mystery Quilt.  Momma needs a quilt finish soon.  Speaking of finishes, there were a few last week.

First up we have Melva over at Melva Loves Scraps.  Melva has been working on a special little quilt called A Time For All Seasons.  It has turned into quite the little memory quilt.  I love how a quilt can bring so much love and good memories to those that use it.

One of the many special memories for Melva with this quilt, is the photo shoot she and her friend did with it.  Make sure you hop over to read about the making and shooting picture taking that happened with this quilt.

Next up we have those fun girls over at Home Sewn By Us, Roseanne and Sue.  They have been working on quilting a top that was a pattern test quilt.  Their quilt is called Geo Star Plaid and I'm in love!

Not only was the pattern and their fabric choices eye popping, the quilting they chose finished this one off just perfectly!  Make sure you congratulate them for this finish!

Now it's your turn.  Link up below and tell us about what you've been up to this week.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

That’s a nice doable list Tish. My favourite bit would be the binding, stitching it on by machine, then snuggling down to hand stitch while watching the snow fall.

Great to nearly finish a very old UFO! Pretty one, by the way!

Yowza, Tish! I was hosting a baby shower yesterday and was so tired afterward that I could barely function. I saved your email as a treat for today, and I'm so glad I did. Thanks so much for the shout out! I love that quilt and how it turned out. I also love that paisley fabric you chose for your UFO. It's perfecto and I am looking forward to seeing that piece all wrapped up. And a nice checkmark for your PHD. Good luck with your Out West block. We are snuggled inside today with the threat/promise of a "big storm." Yeah, it's a great day to stay inside and read friend's blog posts. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

HI Tish! I hope you met your weekend goals! We had a gender reveal party for my new grand babies, so I set about to some very serious house cleaning and cooking instead of sewing.

It is wonderful that you are putting the "finishing touches" on an oldie preparing to find it a good home.
