To-Do Tuesday #5
Last week's list:
1) Finish piecing A Flower Bouquet--Done
It feels like I drug piecing this quilt out way to long. I'm happy to say the top is finished, though not the best inside picture. It will have to wait a little bit to be quilted, but I'm hopeful I can finish it this year.
2) Acquire backing and batting for Mosaic Mystery Quilt--Done
That beautiful gray paisley print will find itself on the back of the quilt. And it turns out I had a piece of cotton batting at the house big enough for this quilt. That brown fabric will become binding for a super old UFO I forgot about.
3) Baste Mosaic Mystery Quilt--nope
I may not have gotten the quilt basted, but I did start kicking around possible ideas for the quilting.
4) Quilt Floral Fireburst--nope
5) Piece February Out West block (if it is released on Feb 1st)--nope
But in my defense, the instructions were not released as of Feb 2nd.
6) Get fabric for the guild's ugly fabric challenge--Done
Finding ugly fabric is a tricky thing. What may be unappealing to me may be your idea of a quilting good time. I decided to go with two pieces that I thought might be challenging to use in a quilt.
4) Begin kitchen reorganization--Done
Though not even close to finished, I have began reorganizing my kitchen cabinets. It's nice to be able to open the over head ones and know I'm not going to get knocked out by a heavy dish.
This week's list:
1) Baste Mosaic Mystery Quilt
2) Piece the Out West blocks
3) Bind super old Star Quilt UFO
4) Decide on February OMG project

Good Morning, Tish! Your A Flower Bouquet quilt top looks great. I love those four setting stones and how they really pull those colors our in the whole piece. Was this a mystery quilt along? Just curious. Oh, those paisley fabrics, especially the gray one is so gorgeous. Can't wait to see that old UFO complete. LOVE your quilting ideas and seeing your process for planning a quilting design. Good luck on this week's list. Thanks so much for linking up today! ~smile~ Roseanne
I started to reorganize my kitchen cabinets a couple weeks ago - but to my husbands dismay it led me to buying new dishes!! LOL - I found (I knew) my heavy pottery plates and bowls had cracks and chips - and they were getting too heavy for my arthritis to deal with - (when you pick up a stack from the dishwasher to put away and get that unexpected twinge in a hand) so I thought this was the perfect time to get Corelle Ware which is so light weight and nice looking all in white - so I got the new dishes and loaded up the other pieces that were half was decent to take to Goodwill and cleaned out others as well - now I have nice clean cabinets
Well, sometimes I think getting the quilting figured out makes the basting easier. You are doing really well; my lists are always too long for the time I have.
The uglies, I guess they were beautiful in their own way some time ago. The glass cabinet, lovely to see the dishes there and know the new ones will be a lot easier to hold.
Great job on your Flower Bouquet! You are an inspiration.
You did well for a long list, especially when factoring in the kitchen reorganisation. I’m about to have a new kitchen installed and I need to pack everything up except essentials to last for two weeks with no cooking facilities. It’s a great time to have a radical clear out. Good luck with this weeks list.
