UFO Busting #66

Welcome to UFO Busting late 4th of July style.  It's been such a crazy two weeks that last weekend came and went before I realized I missed my own party.  If anyone can be late to their own funeral...I'm pretty sure it will be me.  I want to show you all the amazing sewing I've been doing, but dang it, it's pretty much all secret sewing for upcoming events.  So my question is what can I show you??  How about this.

These are my fabrics for Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs Mosaic Mystery QAL.

I am super excited to sew along with Cheryl and all the others that will join in and I am happy to announce that I will be sponsoring a prize at the end of QAL.  I cannot wait to cut into these fabrics next month!

What I need to be doing, is getting my behind in gear and starting the Island Batik Artsy Fartsy Challenge.  In my head it looks beautiful.  Since you can't see in my head, I will tell you it has been inspired by this sign that hangs in my new office and all of the great folks at my new job.

There has been great leaps and bounds made in my quilting room.  Extra shelves have been added which as allowed me to organize all my works in progress, quilt kits and items that need quilted.  This is a sneak peak of the progress.

Hopefully, it will be all finished soon and I can share it with you.

Now for a few highlights from our last party.  First up we have Wendy and Pieceful Thoughts of my Quilting Life.  Wendy was able to bust out a patriotic UFO finish just in time to celebrate Independence Day.

I just love the wavy line quilting Wendy chose for this one.  It makes me think of fire works shooting into the sky.  Absolutely perfect for the holiday.

Next up we have Emily at The Darling Dogwood and her Dog Gone Cute UFO finish.

Here we have Ivy, dog model for one of the blocks, posing with the finished quilt.  I just want to boop all those snoots!  Make sure you hop over to congratulate Emily and Wendy on their finishes!!

Now it's your turn.  Let's see what you've been up to in my absence.  Link up below and tell us all about it.

Now I will leave you with the shocker for the week.  The daughter has been away at state 4H camp all week.  I got a text from her early in the week saying guess what I'm doing?  I'm making a table runner.  Now this child has protested even setting at the sewing machine for as long as I can remember, so I surely I had to have read that wrong.

Sure enough I read it correctly.  I spoke to her briefly on the phone and asked if she thought she'd like to try more, but I wouldn't say she was like "YASSSSS!"  So we shall see.  Small steps.

Ivy says thanks for featuring her and furthering her modeling career!!! Love your Mosaic fabrics. I think I am sadly going to sit it out, too many other projects. Can't believe she made a table runner, maybe she'll still get bitten by the bug!!

Love your fabrics for the mosaic. A table runner is hopefully the first of many projects.

Hi Tish! Ugg, how it got to almost be the middle of July already is just beyond me. I have been thinking of you and especially the Artsy Fartsy challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing what's in your head - I'm sure it will be fab. Baby steps are right - how cool is that, that she made a table runner?!! Before you know it she'll be bopping with earbuds at that Sweet Sixteen . . . and you'll be piecing away contentedly. ~smile~ Roseanne

Oh, secret sewing! Can't wait to see the reveals! I'm waiting on your Artsy Fartsy, since it's been so fun to see what all the IBers are making! Thanks for the highlight, too! No finishes this week, but I am finally getting back in the sewing room! Woohoo on the table runner by your daughter. You just never know when the quilting bug will bite!

Ok...kind of loving the idea of late to one's own funeral! Life is so crazy sometimes. So much fun that your daughter made a quilt!
