UFO Busting #57

Is it Saturday again already?  I'm not even sure how that happened.  The week flew by and I think the only thing that gathered in my sewing space was dust.  As much as I love warm sunny days, I do not love the responsibilities that come with it.  I could possibly be happy living in the land of snow 365 days a year...no mowing, weeding, or running everywhere...just home and my sewing machine.

So today I celebrate the smallest of sewing victories.  All of the blocks for the third section in Pat Sloan's A Flower Bouquet have been released and I haven't even touched them.  One evening I found a few minutes to sort through the fabrics I'm using to plan out the next four blocks.

Now when I can find spare time, I can begin chopping and sewing these together.  I really can't wait to see it all pieced.  The fabrics just make my heart happy.

I'm not the only one trying to stay organized and keep things moving right along.  I've seen that lots of people have been making their quarter goals list and checking them twice.  One of those individuals is Kathleen at Kathleen McMusing.  Kathleen's list includes Island Batik projects that will make your mouth water...mine is!  And this little item on her list...

a charm baby quilt, reminds me I have two UFO's using this exact fabric line still waiting on me to finish them.  Make sure you check out Kathleen's list and help cheer her on here.

Speaking of finishes, Sandra at mmm!quilts celebrated a sort of UFO finish.

Around this time last year, she finished up her Post Card from Sweden Quilt from the QAL she hosted.  When a girl has left over bits and pieces what is she to do?  Create a cushion cover, of course and that is just what she did.  You can read about her progress on making this little cover and the story of where the actual quilt went here.

We have to remember whether you are starting a project, knee deep in it or finished, the process is a journey...an adventure.  I love how Melva at Melva Loves Scraps has been taking us on one of those journeys with her adventure quilt.

During this quilt's progress she has shared bits and pieces of her life and what this quilt means to her.  She reminds us, life is a journey...enjoy it...now go read about it here.

Now it's your turn.  What have you been up to?  Link up and tell us about it below.

Even if you are firmly planted on the train and you find yourself tossed off rolling down the hill...dust off, laugh, grab a bike, a canoe, or walk and find a new path to travel.  Life is a journey!  Don't just sit!

Keep taking baby steps Tish! Six years ago we were in a place in life that we all we could do was follow the path that was lit before us, though we could only see the next step. Hang in there... and use your quilts and quilting as a healing process. Hugs! MelvaLovesScraps(at)NolanQualityCustoms(dot)com

You haven't touched one block? I bet once you get going, though, you'll be caught up in no time. Love those fabrics. Thanks for the feature! It was a UFO because I'd sewed those leftover HSTs up months before I actually finished the dang pillow, ha! Now it smiles at me in the living room, so happy after two days of gloomy rain and wind...April showers...

It was a crazy week...surprised I made it through. Didn't do much sewing this weekend...needed the down time. NO SNOW!! Shovelling is just as bad as yard work.
