It's Tuesday and that means its time to check in over at Home Sewn By Us and see what kind of progress was made on last week's list.
1) Finish red, white and blue quilt--almost
2) Work on the Out West quilt along blocks--no
3) Start quilting the T-shirt quilt--kinda
I got the edges basted with the walking foot and the quilt made its way to the Sweet Sixteen machine. So I 100% consider this forward progress.
This week's list:
1) Focus on resting my hand. I've been having hand issues for a few months now, but I've finally got the point where writing is tricky...so maybe its time to do something about it. My main focus this week will be resting it when I can and icing it A LOT.
2) Finishing up the binding on the red, white and blue quilt and writing a post about it.
3) Piecing on the Out West quilt. Quilting definitely seems to aggravate my hand, but piecing seems to be easier on it. So to keep from going crazy, I hope to at least stitch some pretty fabrics together.

Oooh, I'm sorry to hear about your hand! I hope that icing and some rest do wonders for it and you feel better soon.
Hope the hand heals soon and that it's nothing serious!
Oh boy I totally get the hand issue's and quilting. I have tendonitis that keeps flaring up in my wrist and thumb area and my shoulders. My profession is hard on my body!! I hope you can get yours healed up quickly. Do you wear any type of brace or even those ace bandage type gloves, I think they help a little.
Hi Tish! Hey, I love how the r/w/b quilt is quilted. That's pretty darn clever! I'm going to PIN that idea - I am pretty sure I could somewhat replicate that myself. Icing is your friend if you have any kind of 'itis'. That and Advil, if you can tolerate it. Once you get the inflammation down, those gloves Vicki mentioned might be a big help. {{Hugs}} I hope you get it solved soon and painlessly. Thanks for linking up today, my friend. ~smile~ Roseanne
Sorry to hear about your hand too. While the others are suggesting icing and whatnot, I was just going to suggest a glass of wine - or two, maybe three. Heehee. Hope it heals soon, Tish!
Go with Wendy's plan! I mean, no take it easy and do what they say. You are making good progress, and you do get a lot of credit for getting the tshirt quilt to the machine. Now, one suggestion from when I had Carpal Tunnel and was a typist was that changing my chair position hi to low or low to hi in increments ever 15 minutes or so changed the angle of my fingers/hands. Don't know if it will help you but it did help me, sometimes...if not, more whine or wine!
