UFO Busting #79
Its been all hustle and bustle over here this fall with lots of changes coming soon. My baby girl is getting ready to have some adventures of her own and life has been all about getting her ready for her next adventure, which should (in theory) leave me with more time for chasing UFO's. This week was all about the applique.
I added trees, a moon and borders to the landscape piece. I may try to sneak quilting in after I finish up the October Island Batik project this weekend. I don't foresee a ton of quilting on this project, just some thread painting to try to give it more life.
Speaking of the Island Batik project...all of the applique has been applied and stitched around and a quilting plan has sprung to life!
I need to work on my all over meandering game. I need more edge to edge designs in my life to get quilts finished. So I'm going to try something new on this table runner. In one section I will quilt hearts, kind of like one would stitch all over paisleys.
I could totally see on a larger scale how this would work wonderfully as an all over design. Maybe on the Daisy Chain Mystery quilt?
So the sewing table is cleaned back off, ready to work on these projects. The Sweet Sixteen is ready to go for some weekend quilting and I'm feeling recharged and ready to quilt!
In honor of my daughter's new adventure, let's celebrate some kids and quilts from the last party! First up we have Sandra at mmm!quilts and her beloved Brady, who I 100% believe has quilting in his blood and future.
Look at that smile! I think you can say he is proud of his quilt. Nana did an amazing job. And I do believe I remember reading on Instagram he helped with the quilting a tad bit. I just love this boy!
What do you do when your son asks if you can make a quilt for charity? You make a quilt for charity! And that is exactly what happened over at Emily's The Darling Dogwood.
This would be the second quilt for charity she and her little man have created together, third quilt in total of making. Hop over to take a closer look at the adorable little fabrics they used to create a quilt that is sure to bring a smile to a little one's face.
Now it's your turn. What have you been up to this week? Link up and tell us all about it.
Now I must run. I hear a deadline calling my name. Plus I can't wait to start chopping up this strip bundle of Black Pearl for the November Island Batik challenge. Now...where did I put that bottle of rum?? (Prepare for the month long Pirates of the Caribbean/Jack Sparrow references. You have been warned.)

That runner will be gorgeous! Can't wait to see how you quilt it.
Oh I am envious of your Black Pearl collection!! Love the quilting plan on the runner. I came up with a new all-over this week too, thanks to Greta. Thank you for the feature; that child is something else, and if I get my way, you and he will meet one of these days.
Hi Tish! Woot woot - a month-long reference to Jack Sparo?!! Yippee. I'm glad I subscribe to your blog so I won't miss a single one. I am VERY intrigued by this all-over heart quilting design. I can't quite picture it, but I love your drawing. Will you please share some closeups when it's complete? Oooh-la-la to that Black Pearl collection - it looks divine. Here's to more 'you' time for UFOs and other fun life events. I can't think of anyone who deserves it more. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Oh man, you have been busy! Those life transition things are a bit stressy/crazy, but good when it all settles. I like where you are going with your IB projects! Jack Sparrow, huh? I might have to binge-watch those movies, since I haven't seen more than one (maybe?) - I know, I live under a rock! Haha!
Tish, Tish, Tish! I love, love, love how that landscape is coming together, and can’t wait to see how you embellish it. One day, I’m going to try one!
Love, love, love your landscape quilt!
Love how your landscape is looking--the moon is is especially perfect! Thanks for the shout out!
I'm excited to see what you do with Black Pearl! That's my challenge/hop fabric and I'm up first on the hop. I love those fabrics so much, I think I'm using the leftovers for my December project!
