UFO Busting #35

I think I blinked and October has totally flew by.  Where has it gone?  I feel like I don't have much to show for it.  This week has been slow in the stitching world for me.  I have still been stealing every moment of free time to continue slashing my stash.  With the green tote completely finished,

I have started on the brown one and I am happy to report that I've seen a bit a progress.  Everything that could be chopped into jelly roll strips has been.

Now I'm starting on charm squares and will finish off with 2.5" squares and crumbs.

Next up on the quilt front this week, has been quilting on two Americana Flags that I hope to sell.  I have a free tutorial on making them here.  With just the blue part of the flag to go, these should be ready to be rehomed before Christmas.

Other than that, the temperatures have been dropping to a snuggly 34 F and I say snuggly only because I have a million quilts at the house.

They are also handy at high school foot ball games as well.

Now let's see what you were up to last weekend.  Emily from the Darling Dogwood linked up with her finished Rainbow Scrap Challenge Quilt, Elephant Parade (by Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts).

Look at all those darling little elephants!  Make sure you hop over and congratulate her and find out just where those pink elephants ran off to?

Next up we have Gail from Quilting Gail and her Fireburst Mystery Quilt.

I love the beautiful fall batiks she used in making her quilt top.  She has just started quilting on it.  I need to take a page from Gail's book and start quilting on mine!

Now let's see what you've been up to this week?  Link up below and tells us all about it.

I'm hoping for a mostly quiet at home weekend this week.  I see lots of basting in my future, since my mom's garage will be almost empty this weekend.  And of course I'm going to continue to slash that stash!!!!

Jelly roll strips, and the flags, wonderful, And the Fireburst by Gail, love those batiks. What have I been up to, hemmed the cut off armholes to make Hugh a singlet from a merino top where the sleeves were so worn, sadly, packed the Bernina away for 5 weeks!!! cleaned doorways and doorsteps, and went to have coffee with a friend. Another friend dropped in a delicious cooked chook, then another arrived with her grand-daughter, with a lovely card, wishing us a happy move, and a plate of cream filled meringues. Happy as a pig in ****. Or mud, as the case may be. TMI, maybe but that was today. All done and dusted now at 7.20 p.m.cold and drizzling.

Every once in a while you have to purge your stash! Cutting them into strips and blocks is a great way to have usable pieces for future projects! Our temps have dropped too and it does not make me happy...not even one little bit!

I just can't cut into my stash!! I keep each piece as big as I can, I guess because I never know what I am going to make with it, and I don't always use pre-cut friendly patterns? But I admire anyone who can be that organized. My stash is due for an organization day!! Maybe today or tomorrow? Anything to avoid the dusting I need to do today!! LOL

34 degrees is multiple quilt kind of snuggly weather! Good for you for making great continued progress on your scraps. :)

I'm so glad your "slash your stash" kick is continuing! It will be so great when you've got a ton of home-made precuts ready for your whims! Thanks for featuring Elephant Parade!

Hi Tish! October has whizzed by and have very little to show for it. And I don't even care! At least you have all your scraps trimmed and in shape - or a good portion of them. I'm still working to get my October OMG finished. Better run and get back to work. Happy Saturday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

You are doing a great job of cutting up your scraps. I have a basket right next to my ironing table, waiting. Hope to start joining you on this next week! October flew by for you too?!? I can't believe the month is done!

I’m pretty impressed with your stick-to-it attitude while tackling those scrap bins! I wish I could make myself jump on this band wagon! Where do you market your finished quilts? It’s blowing and rainy here today, so hopefully lots of sewing will be happening at my house!

I am loving your American Flag quilt. The quilting is perfect on it!

I have a couple of quilts in mind that I want to stash bust with strips. If I could just decide on a color pallet, I would be set.
