I realized this weekend it has been quite some time since I've had a stash report or have been crushing on a project. Honestly, the good ol' fabric stash hasn't been growing much. Extra fabric is extra distractions. But on Mother's Day, my husband decided to get me some mums. My favorite it kind...the ones I don't have to water or care for, Dear Mum by Robin Pickens for Moda Fabric.
I must admit, I had never ran across this fabric line until I opened the bag. Lots of fun bright prints and I fell hard for that black with gray and white speckles on it. I have an idea in mind using a Moda Bake Shop pattern, but alas, it will have to wait a while. Thank goodness these mums won't die!
Then, this happened this weekend. To celebrate our anniversary and our daughter's one day home between camps, we traveled to a near by town for lunch and a quick mall trip. I stumbled into these beautiful fabrics on sale a Joann Fabrics. I don't know that this would be a typical fabric pull for me, but look at those saturated colors!! And did I mention there is a silver sparkle to them as well? Swoon! Needless to say, they came home with me and I have started yet another version of the Fireburst Mystery Quilt. Don't judge :)
Lastly, I will leave you with my crush.
That's it for today. Tomorrow I get to share my finished quilt top in the Playtime Plus QAL by Sandra at mmm!quilts and I'll discuss my quilting thoughts/dilemma for that quilt.
Today I'm linking up with Main Crust Monday.

Crushing? You mean drooling, right? You crush and I drool. Love the gorgeous purples. Happy anniversary to you and Dave.
Those are the perfect kind of mums for a quilting mum on Mother's Day! :)
I have a feeling you will make very good use of every bit of that fabric! Have fun quilting that block...its a beauty!!
I'm loving those purples and teals, Tish! And now I feel better about buying fabric myself over the weekend. Woman cannot live from stash alone... at least not THIS woman! :-)
Those new fabrics, Firebursts will be everywhere. Love the purples together, and the block, what a beauty.
Oh, Tish, Tish, Tish! Where do you find the energy/time to create so much? My back really limits my productivity, and I have to settle with slow and easy wins the race! I’m 'crushing' on your new fabric, too. I’m interested in how the JoAnn fabric works up. They’ve recently stocked their stores with all their own fabrics, at least in Tx stores. I didn’t buy any before I left, but it seems to be of better quality than their previous line and lots of the fabrics on the wall. Forget their fat quarters, though, unless you starch them to death. I’m so proud of your FMQ talent and skills. I love, love, love FMQing, but I struggle so much deciding just what to do.
Oh, that fabric is so pretty! I love mums, especially ones that are low maintenance! I can't wait to see how you do your magic on that quilt! Will watch for your post on Plus Playtime too!
What fabulous fabric, and definitely a keeper of a husband who buys with such taste! I like your block, so pretty!
I have those charm packs on their way to me right now! I think I found Robin's fabric through a roundabout journey starting with Pinterest. Can't wait to see what you do with yours
Wow your stash has some great new friends to make room for! Looking forward to seeing what all you do with them.
So pretty! That Dear Mum line is new to me, too. I really like it! Fabric makes the very best gift to celebrate Mother's Day and your anniversary. And Arbor Day. And Flag Day. That's coming right up, isn't it?
