I think I have finally emerged from my sick state and joined everyone in the real world. A head/chest cold in summer is never fun, but I guess someone has to give those germs a place to live and die. I may have been down, but I did manage to celebrate two finishes and start some new projects.
I also finished up a showcase project for Aurifil Thread highlighting Anna Maria Horner's Passion Flowers fabrics from Free Spirit.
You can read more about these fun prints and what I created here. It was a great way to end my run as an Aurifil Artisan. I would be lying if I tried to say my heart didn't break a little when I wasn't chosen to be part of the 2019 team, but I do look forward to seeing what all the talented artisans create this year.
Now it's back to cracking the whip. There is a June Island Batik project to work on, a quilt for a blog hop in August and a special quilt that I can't wait to share more about. It is using Island Batik's new Freedom Fabric's and I am in love with them!
One block down...60-ish more to go!
Now let's see what you were up to during party 63. I love this one, because it is a generational UFO story. Melva at Melva Loves Scraps worked on (and finished) a UFO. A Sunbonnet Sue Quilt that spans several generations. The quilt blocks came to her via her husband's aunt and were most likely made by his great grandmother. How cool is that??
Please take some time to visit and read about the making of this quilt...it really gets you in the feel goods, thinking of quilters from the past enjoying what we love. Melva also gives a great history behind this quilt block. Personally, I can never think of Sunbonnet Sue without thinking about a skit from the musical Quilters. Am I the only one laughing?
Now it's time to see what you were up to this week. Link up below and tell us all about it.

Great colors on your heart quilt (and quilt design). Love the fabrics in your challenge quilt too.
I love Hearts on Fire every time I see it. Fabulous, fabulous quilt!
Glad you're feeling better. I need to get working with my Freedom fabrics, but mine is due first of July...yikes......
These summer things are hard to get rid of . We both had an ear and throat thing which lingered up for weeks . And my UFO ? I really must just put the binding on my Fire quilt . It really is that near s finish
