UFO Busting #59

Welcome to UFO Busting...where we celebrate UFO's we spot and finish, get distracted by new stuff and hopefully just have a good time.  We had several UFO's flying around last week, but we will get to them in a few.  Love is in the air over here.  I have a new crush and I'm crushing hard.

I am wine-ing and dinning this Island Batik Moroccan Bazaar strip set pretty hard.  From the moment I set eyes on it, I knew it was for me.  It totally made me walk away from a project that could have been, in hopes of something new and beautiful.  We've had our first quilty date, but that's for another post.

I'm super excited to say, that I've started to work on a secret project for August, but I can't say anything other than that and got caught up on all the quilt-a-longs I'm participating in.  I have all my pieces together for Little Bunny Quilt's Daisy Chain Mystery Quilt, just in time for new instructions to come out on Monday.

And the next three blocks for Pat Sloan's A Flower Bouquet are all caught up.

Wednesday the next block in Pat's Out of This World Mystery Quilt was released and landed finished on my table.

Being all caught up on everything so early in the month has me thinking it's high time I pull another UFO out to finish.  The big question being which one?

Speaking of UFO's I'm going to take my inspiration from last week's party and get to work.  Last week, Janice from Color, Creating and Quilting pulled out and finished piecing a UFO from a few years ago.

She created it using charm packs and it is full of cowboy fun!  This UFO isn't the only thing she's wrangled up over there either.  Oh, no.  She's been building quilty houses like a mad lady that will leave you feeling the rainbow.  Make sure you click over and check out all the fun stuff she has going on.

Next up we have Vasudha at Storied Quilts and her UFO finish of Hopscotch Tiles.

Not only did she celebrate an April finish of her Island Batik challenge quilt, April Flowers, she also claims a One Monthly Goal finish of piecing this UFO from over two years ago.  I LOVE how those greens and burnt oranges pop against the white background.  Make sure you hop over and congratulate her on finishing up both projects!

Now it's your turn.  Let's see what you've been up to this week.  Link up below and tell us all about it.

Come back on Monday and I think we will have an episode of As The Quilt Turns or maybe The Cut and The Pieced.  Will I catch the attention of the Island Batik strip set?  Will I be able to convince it to let me chop it up and grow it into something bigger?  Or will a ten inch stack steal whisk me away?  You'll just have to come back to find out.

UFO Busting #49

This week has been all about finding balance.  Balance juggling old projects and new ones.  Balance in using time for quilting and dealing when there is no time quilting can be done.  The stars aligned and I was able to find a bit of both.

My old--I pulled out a UFO that is on my PhD (projects half done) list and decided it is high time to get it quilted.  Bundle Buster Baby Quilt will be seeing its finish soon.

I'm trying my hand at an all over design and hope that the squarish swirls do this quilt justice.

UFO Busting #48

Great news!  The ground hog saw his shadow, so an early Spring is ahead.  I do hope for the little fellows sake, he's right.  We would hate to fire him and hire a new one.  No sleeping for the ground hog equals no sleeping for the Tisha.  This week I managed to sneak in as much sewing time as I could.  I have a long list of things I want to cross off and February is the shortest of them all.

The retreat puppy quilt has been all pieced together.  This makes me so happy.  I can't wait to get it all basted up and headed toward a finish.  I can see me and this pack of puppies enjoying a warm cup of tea and a good book.

Block 6, Garden Inspirations, of Pat Sloan's A Flower Bouquet QAL found it's way to a finish.

And three more little doll gowns managed to get cut out.  These should sew up super quick.

Most of the other quilting that happened this week fell under the planning category, leaving me with not much to show for it.  Everything in its time.

Now let's take a peak at what all linky dance moves you were up to last week.  Since Valentines Day is right around the corner, let's check out this stunning red and white quilt pieced by Chris at Chris Knits Sews.

This beautiful Feathered Star Quilt lived quite a long time in UFO land but that is 100% okay, because Chris's quilt has come alive as a finish.  She recently had her quilt quilted by a talented friend and man did she add some yummy quilty texture to this baby!  Make sure you hop over to Chris's page and check out all the details on this quilt.  If you aren't hit by Cupid's quilty arrow, I will be shocked.

Now let's see what you've been up to this week.  Link up below and tell us all about it.  We want to fall in love with your projects too.

Next week, I will be sharing with you my first completed challenge project as an Island Batik Ambassador.  I can't wait to show you all the fun I packed into this quilt.  It may be mini, but I promise it will be exploding with fun.

BOM-Day Dreaming of Layouts

Last year's break from blocks of the month must have recharged my quilt along juices.  I am keeping right up with Pat Sloan's Out of this World monthly quilt along and the weekly quilt along A Flower Bouquet.  The first of February brought the second block in the Out of this World QAL, Space Shows.

UFO Busting #46

It's been a week of blocks, blocks and more blocks!  I am happy to report that all of the puppies for the Dog Gone Cute Quilt by Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts are complete.  Two rows are actually sewn together.

This last little fellow ended up with blue eyes.

He will definitely be that little one that stands out from everyone else.  There is always one in the pack.

BOM of the Week Update

So far so good on the blocks of the week update.  This is the second time I have participated in one of Pat Sloan's weekly block quilts.  This one is called A Flower Bouquet with a new block coming out every Wednesday.  Two blocks have been released so far and I'm happy to say I'm 2/2.

I could not wait to break into this fat quarter bundle I picked up back in the fall at Miller's Dry Goods in OH.  I knew that it belonged in this quilt.  The instructions called for 19 fat quarters and my bundle only contained 14...no problem I just pulled from my stash.

Here is a close up of last week's block, Seed Catalogs, to show those yummy prints.

And this week's, Bulbs.

Is it too soon to start day dreaming about what the final layout will be after only two blocks?

I do hope not, because if so, I am in deep trouble!
