UFO Busting #27 (A day early)

I'm back! It's back! And it feels great!  I can't wait to hear what everyone has been up to during my several weeks/months hiatus.  I have managed to sneak in some sewing time and create a few more UFO's (smacks palm to forehead).  That's okay, job security for this linky party.

This week, I focused on starting a Star Blossom Baby Quilt that will be a gift for a dear friend expecting in November.  She sent pictures of her decorated nursery and I knew immediately it needed a quilt with Kate Spain fabrics.

So I got to work chopping and sewing up the bits and pieces.

All of the hard work of HST's is finished and even four blocks are sewn.

I have high hopes this weekend will bring some dedicated sewing time and I will have a finished quilt top by Monday.

The only other sewing related work this week was some much needed fall cleaning.  Is that a thing?  With some help I rearranged the living room and dinning room/sewing space.

I'm excited to report that we can once again easily eat at the table when we want to.  I've been making an effort to clean up my sewing things after I'm finished for the day.  And another cool thing...

The rearranging now allows me to watch television while I sew!  I love me some Netflix.

That's pretty much it for me as far as sewing goes.  My weekend goals are to baste two quilts, finish the baby quilt and make practice sandwiches for the monofilament thread free motion experiment.  Fingers crossed, all of that will happen.  Now it's time to see what you've been up to.  Hopefully, your week proved super productive and you have projects flying toward finish.

To everyone that links up and stops by this week, thank you for remembering me and coming back.  I have truly missed all of you!

Sewing and the TV, a good combination. Good to see you here again, and although I do some cutting on the dining table,I can have my machine permanently on the desk, with my laptop. That is the easier one to move, so much lighter. Those fabrics are lovely together.

The fabrics are adorable! I just added a table to my sewing room, now I really need to get in the closet and get it rearranged and fabrics dealt with!

How nice to see you back to quilting. I don't have a TV in my sewing room, maybe I need one.

Glad you are back, Tish! I guess I'm weird, I really don't care to have the TV or even the radio on when I'm "in the sewing/quilting zone!" I guess my dogs barking at the wildlife roaming through the yard keeps me entertained!! LOL

I'm going to love that new quilt! Do NOT make me start another project, please! LOL TV distracts me, and anyway, I don't have TV service, but I love good classical music - nothing with screechy violins! NPR plays a lot of that, so I just put on my on CDs and sew away!

I'm so glad to see you making your space even more comfy and productive! The Kate Spain fabrics are so lovely; I can't wait to see the finished quilt. Not much UFO work for me lately because we're visiting family. But lots of idea brewing in my brain :)

I love the colors in that baby quilt, Tish! You're inspiring me to spend some time cleaning up my space. Isn't it great to be able to watch a movie while you quilt? I can't do that anymore (tv upstairs, I'm down) so I listen to music, but I do watch while I do hand stitching. Thanks for bringing the linky back!
