(More later)<br /><br />It took me about 5 to 6 years to finish my first quilt. Like you, I had no idea what I was doing and soon got discouraged. Having drunk the quilter's kool-aid though, I didn't stop making quilts. Instead, I made quilts I could finish and eventually I returned to my first quilt and finished it. What a great feeling!
