UFO Busting #95

Welcome back to another weekend of UFO Busting.  I have a finish that is a UFO to celebrate but no pictures...how sad is that??

Hopefully, the sun will come back out and I can get pictures soon.  What I did do this week, I attended the guild meeting and participated in an ugly fat quarter drawing.  I'm actually pretty pleased with the two I got.

I have no idea what I will make, but with a PEZ fabric it has to be fun.

While I didn't do much sewing myself this week, I have a new person wanting to join me in sewing.  My cousin has always been very supportive of my quilting and very inquisitive as well.  This week he dipped is toe in the sewing water and I helped him cut and begin piecing a quilt that will be for his daughter.

He's totally conquered half square triangles and I predict he will be sewing circles around me in no time.  I love it.

Speaking of love, hearts and red where floating around last week's party.  Nancy at Grace and Peace Quilting was definitely feeling the love.  And I just might be too.

Nancy joined in with Molly at Lovely Threads quilt along for her Show Love pattern.  I have to admit, this has me wanting to drop everything and make this small project.  Make sure you pop over and show Nancy some love.

Next up we have Roseanne and Sue over at Home Sewn By Us.  They have decided to play along with Project Quilting this year and the weekly theme challenges they give.  The latest challenge was hearts.  Something with hearts.

They were able to whip up this adorable little heart hanging for their door to greet loved ones when the come over.  I know that makes me feel the love.  Make sure you stop over and heart this sweet little wall hanging.

Now it's your turn.  Link up below and show us what you've been up to this week.

  2. Your cuz is going to town with his quilt!!! Lookin good! Thanks for featuring my Show Love quilt---I highly recommend the pattern! The mini size goes together so quick! And can definitely be made from stash. The baby and throw sizes are included, so there may be another couple of quilts from that pattern coming from me!

  4. So how do you do the ugly fat quarter drawing, any specific rules? I'm always looking for fun things to do with our quilt group. Wow - your cousin took to quilting and makes it look easy peasy. How fun! If I get my wiggle on, I might actually have a finish next week. We'll see -- all I have to do is bind, so if I don't procrastinate it should be done!

  5. Hi Tish! Gosh, I am really late to the party for this weekend. Thank you SO much for the shout out, my friend. That is so sweet of you. Ugly fabrics??!! I guess everyone has their own definition of u.g.l.y. I just love that PEZ fabric!! Is this the cousin that wants to make the quilt for your uncle? I assume so - and that is rockin' cool. That darn heart hanging is still on our door because I don't have anything to replace it yet. Isn't that sad?! I'd better get a wiggle on, just like Wendy! ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. That's wonderful that you're teaching your cousin! I hope you both have a wonderful time working together and create many lasting memories along with your quilts. The Ugly Fat Quarter contest is funny -- we all have ugly fabric in our stashes, don't we? How does it GET there?! Why do we ever buy fabric that we think is ugly in the first place?!!
