Fireburst Mystery Quilt--Block 2

Happy 1st of September!!!  I apologize for being a day late.  Let's get this month started off with a small boom in the form of Bock 2!  This block may take just a little bit longer than last month's but I promise it will still be pretty easy.  Below are the pieces we will be working with.

Step 1
Draw a diagonal line on the back side of one of a Fabric 1 A square.  Place the square in the corner of one of the Background E square, right sides together, and stitch on the diagonal line.  Trim 1/4" from the sewn line and press open or toward the Fabric 1 square.

Make a total of four Fabric 1/Background units.  Repeat using four Fabric 2 A squares and four Background E squares to make four Fabric 2/Background units and set them to the side.

Step 2
Draw a diagonal line on the back side of a Fabric 3 A square.  Place in the bottom corner of a 4.5" (lap 8.5") Fabric 1 HST, right sides together, like the diagram below.  Stitch on the diagonal line and trim 1/4" away from the sewn line.  Press open or toward the Fabric 3 square.

Create a total of four units.  Repeat using four Fabric 3 A squares and four 4.5" (lap 8.5")
 Fabric 2 HSTs.

Step 3

Layout your block like the diagram below and sew together.
The finished block will measure Baby 10.5" x 12.5" and Lap 20.5" x 24.5" unfinished.  You will need to make a total of four blocks.

You can download a copy of the instructions for free on my Craftsy page here.  Feel free to join us over in our Facebook Group.  I hope you enjoy making this block and the exciting part we only have one more block to go!  Are you bursting with curiosity??   I'll be posting my finished blocks later in the week.

This has been a great paced QAL. Lots of time to get everything done without feeling overwhelmed.
