Best Surprise Gift Ever

I can't completely say that I didn't know this package was coming, but finding out about it was a complete surprise.  When I started blogging last year, I had no idea what I was doing and really didn't know anyone who blogged.  I just kind of jumped in with both feet and gave it a try.  Absolutely the best decision I have ever made.  I have made so many friends and hope to make so many more who share the same passion as I do.

One of the people that I met through the New Bloggers Blog Hop was Sandra over at mmm!quilts .  We started out by commenting on each others' posts every now and then.  Slowly those posts turned into email conversations.  Not only do we have a love for quilting, but we both passionately love our pibble (Sandra's cuter term for pit bulls) babies.  Like all mamma bears, we would fight for our four legged children, who receive unfair bad raps. We would have 4 or 5 different email conversations going at a time.  Finally one day Sandra asked me if I used iMessage and I do.  Holy cow best idea ever!  We talk darn near ever day.  Our conversations have ranged from very deep and philosophical to this...
I am the victim of spell check all the time.  All the time,

It's funny how some people you feel like you've known forever and I mean that as a complement.  Even though I have never met her in person, I feel like we have been friends forever, she gets me and my humor.

The other day she sent me a picture of an amazing pillow cover...BEAUTIFUL.  Then she sent a super up close picture and there stitched in white thread was the little letters T-I-S-H.  What??  She made it for me.  I've never had anyone make me something like that before.  My sappy girl happy tears started forming in my eyes.

I can't help but to just look at it and pet the pretty quilting.  Sandra, I would lick it if I could, because I'm pretty sure it would taste like blue raspberries and strawberries. (She gets that, we are weirdos)  I feel honored that she would send this to me.  I know how much work she put into it, because I free motion quilt too.  She's crazy (good crazy)...why would she send this???

Look at all those details!
Look at those feathers!!!
And there in the middle right above the binding is my name.  It's a small detail that she always adds to gifts that she makes for people.  I've always loved that little touch.  It's like a small Where's Waldo.

She backed it in Paradisio and even included a few fat quarters.

I'm not sure I can thank her enough for this over the top thoughtful gift.

Hopefully, if all goes as plans, I will get to meet my friend in person this spring when she travels back home.  Not only Sandra, but the world famous MacGyver and squeal, my furry man, Rocco!

Also, a long lecture has been given to the teenager (similar to the lecture I gave concearning the 3 signed books by my favorite authors) that this is a family heirloom and cannot be sold in a yard sale for $1.00 when I'm dead.  I will come back to haunt her!

Sandra has her own story to share about this quilt and the quilting of it.  I believe she intends to share it in a few days, but for today I had to share this amazing gift.  Quilters, we are a big hearted bunch.

And on a side note, I am super excited to be participating in the Craftsy Sweetens Up My Quilting Life Blog Hop going on right now.  It is being hosted by Julie (Pink Doxies) and Sandra (mmm!quilts) and they have put together a kick butt blog hop, if I do say so myself.  Below is a schedule for the hop.  Make sure you stop by and show all the ladies some love and take advantage of the super cool sales and give aways.  What a great way to treat yourself to something sweet!

:-) You've told your half of the story so well, and with such compliments to moi. The least I could do for what you did. And I had to do some pretty special FMQ; yours is so fabulous, so I had to meet you at your 'bar'...and I don't mean wine bar, although that, my sweet friend, is GOING to happen soon. Since I love to read too, you have to tell me what authors signed their books for you?? It's as good as meeting quilt celebs, meeting authors!
